Unleash The Power of Believing in Others
It has been said of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that he inspired others, not because he had a dream, but because his dream touched the dream of others. Understand that if someone incessantly goes at people with what they want, they will lose people in the first five minutes.
The trap of solitude and isolation is this: we are simply not here for just ourselves. The man who truly gives himself to mankind will find his ultimate destination and purpose welling up within him. We give ourselves to others until we are empty and then we look to the divine source to fill us up. When we have spent ourselves in a cause, trying to get better products or better services to others, there will arise another level of personal development.
Henry Ford was once asked what he would do if he lost all his money and his business, to which he replied, “I would think of some other fundamental, basic need of people and I would supply that need more cheaply and more efficiently than anyone else. In five years, I would be a multimillionaire again.” As we look through the lens of how to get something we need, we come to a clear understanding of how to give something to others in need.
It is more blessed to give than to receive, is the antidote for a self-absorbed society. The power of believing in others is a tough row to hoe until you start to see people in through the lense helping them and not always helping yourself. Then, when they realize the harvest is significantly more bountiful than expected, they think, “I should have tried this sooner.” When someone is only into life for all the selfish reasons, that individual will quit harvesting.
As leaders, many times we can get stuck in a trap of only trying to get results. People are not people if we are only trying to milk them for what they can give us., they are cattle. How far can we lead a man if we are not developing him? Good managers become influential leaders when they no longer fear the people around them, and begin a journey of helping them to become all they are capable of. Stepping out of the way and letting underlings become great will make them even greater. Finding ways to bless and fill people’s lives with the things that they want will make you indispensable to the world.
1. Develop a genuine rapport with them by showing them that you are totally invested in their success.
2. Challenge their abilities while giving them the tools and support they need to succeed.
3. Offer sincere encouragement about their capabilities when you see them struggling or getting down on themselves.
Remember to bring solutions and solve people’s problems. We should even go as far as inspiring them to greatness while in their presence. Most people write out their goals with only themselves in mind. Try writing out some goals for the people we are trying to influence. So as tough as it may be to do, be a little unselfish and try again. Don’t even worry about yourself and focus again on the needs and desires of those you want to influence.
#MINDSHIFT: Not what am I taking from the world, rather what can I contribute to it.
We believe in ourselves, and now we can implant belief into others for their benefit. When we have something incredible to give, we can be as passionate as we want to be. Our purpose is being fulfilled. Our confidence in our self builds confidence in them as we inspire the upward change. Walls of resistance are broken down by our ability to communicate. The pillars of vision are now in full functionality, and we are succeeding in a way very few people do. This is not an accident. It is life. This is not just some chance encounter; it is our destiny, and as we stand in it and deliver, our habits will begin to shift from the pessimistic self-loathing to a purposeful lover and contributof mankind.
There’s no arrogance or bullying as we constantly listen and affirm the places that people are trying to go. Smile and continue to understand; even a feeling of protection will come upon you as you listen to your customer or underling. Who doesn’t need or want another person in their corner, not calling the shots, but cheering them on and helping them to achieve what they want? People are tired of wondering who they can trust, as there are so many shady people. Come out of the shadow and place the business in the light as much as possible. Use any form of media and social networking available to promote on every level and inspire people’s belief in themselves. Do your goals include humanity in them or just a list of things you want?
